How It Started

I’ve always loved drawing and painting, and I wanted to create something that brings a little more beauty and meaning to everyday life.

Inspired by the symbolism of birth flowers, I started illustrating floral designs and turning them into customizable journals, notebooks and greeting cards. What started as a passion project quickly grew into a way to help others celebrate life’s special moments in a personal and artistic way.

The Artist

Hi, I’m Nicolet Barclay, the artist and illustrator behind Nicotato. That's me with the raindeer antlers :). The name comes from a mix of my nickname, “Nico,” and my Idaho roots—land of the famous potatoes. I wanted my business to reflect both my personal connection to home and my love for creating art that feels warm, thoughtful, and unique.

Each design starts with my drawings, inspired by nature and personal expression, and is printed on sturdy, lined notebooks made to be both beautiful and functional. Whether you’re jotting down notes, planning your next big idea, or just love pretty stationery, I hope Nicotato brings a little joy to your everyday.
